I am pleased to write these lines in appreciation of the dedicated and exemplary services rendered by of Mr. Muhammad Saleem, Proprietor of Zomex Instrument Co. He started his career of manufacturing state of the art cutting micro-ophthalmic instrument when the country was wholly solely depending on the imported instruments by spending huge foreign exchange for its projects related to the sight saving.
Mr. Saleem worked very hard with limited resources to indigenize the Ophthalmic Industry by manufacturing the finest instruments locally and the mere fact that these instruments are now being used with confidence by the Ophthalmologists all over the world, speaks volumes of his dedication and devotion to excel in maintaining the international standards of his products. These instruments are no doubt very cost-effective and equally popular not only in Pakistan but also in many European and SAARC countries with greater demand in the future.
Being a trend-setter he is, now, a familiar figure for the promotion of the Ophthalmic Industry. His achievements and services to the medical profession in general and Ophthalmic world in particular are indeed laudable and deserves full recognition by the Ophthalmological society of Pakistan and our national at large.

The foundations of Ophthalmic micro-surgery in Pakistan were laid in early 1980′s, when the use of microscopes for the eye operations started. With the advent of microscopes the type and quality of instruments required for eye operations needed a radical change. It was beyond the reach of most of the Ophthalmologists of Pakistan to acquire imported instruments, as they were very expensive. It gives me great pride in saying that it was Mr. Saleem of Zomex Instruments who came forward and not only helped in transfer of technology from abroad to Pakistan. The instruments manufactured by Mr. Saleem are comparable to any international instrument company of repute. His innovative mind and thoughts have enabled him to produce some of the in instruments, which were not even available with multinational international companies. He commands respect amongst the surgeons in general and Ophthalmologists in particular.

Ophthalmological Society of Pakistan is pleased to announce Mr. Muhammad Saleem of Zomex Instruments as Quality Leader of the Ophthalmic Industry of Pakistan. He is the pioneer introducing Micro Ophthalmic Surgical Instruments in this country.
To his credit there are number of achievements, his ability to introduce new innovative products has given micro surgery new dimensions ophthalmic and instrument industry an edge over other nations. Developed countries like Germany also admired the instruments he introduced.
